October is Red Ribbon Month

The CV School Board passed a resolution declaring October Red Ribbon Month in Chippewa Valley Schools. Red Ribbon Week is 10/23-10/27/23 in the district.  What we know about the use of alcohol, marijuana, vaped nicotine, and other drugs during childhood, the teen years, and young adult life:

It is highly associated with academic underachievement and social/emotional problems.
Prevention efforts need to start early and continue through childhood and adolescence.
Effective prevention involves parents, school, and community.
