Chippewa Valley Schools
Chippewa Valley Schools is a public pre-K to 12th grade school district headquartered in Clinton Township, Michigan. Serving about 14,000 students across Clinton and Macomb Townships, it is the seventh largest school district in the state and recognized for its technology integration, high academic standards, and comprehensive student programming.

Educational programs
The district offers a full range of educational opportunities, from the Little Turtle Early Childhood Center to advanced college-prep courses in its high schools. Specialized offerings include Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, International Baccalaureate study through the International Academy of Macomb (IAM), and 15 Career and Technical Education programs. Elementary schools are immersed in challenging research-based curriculum through programs like the Science of Reading and middle school students have a new selection of course electives that provide students with high-interest, relevant hands-on learning. CVS students enjoy a variety of sports and after school clubs and activities including programs like Science Olympiad, LEGO Robotics, and other school-based volunteer opportunities and initiatives.
Facilities and technology
Chippewa Valley Schools emphasizes 21st-century learning environments. Every classroom features interactive LED panels, sound systems, and one-to-one student technology devices. The district’s 2018 Safe Schools, Strong Schools bond funded safety upgrades, including secure entryways, emergency alert systems, and new transportation and mechanical systems.
The Community
According to Crain’s Business, the district is a major Macomb County employer with more than 1,500 staff members and a long tradition of parent and community involvement through PTOs, booster clubs, and advisory committees. It maintains active partnerships with a variety of community agencies and organizations as well as the Chippewa Valley Coalition for Youth and Families, promoting student well-being and family engagement.
Fiscal Responsibility
Chippewa Valley Schools receives high marks for fiscal responsibility on its annual audits. CVS spends more money on classroom and student instruction and less on administrative costs than the average Michigan school district. By maintaining a strong fund balance, CVS ensures the long-term financial stability of the district.
Strategic Master Plan for the Future
Chippewa Valley Schools is implementing a 10–15-year Master Plan, developed with Fielding International, to optimize facilities and align resources with evolving educational needs, ensuring sustainability and innovation across all campuses.
