In-District Transfer

Elementary:

Chippewa Valley School families now have more options when it comes to choosing their child's school. Through an In-District Transfer request parents/guardians may choose to enroll their child in an elementary school outside of their home attendance area as long as there is appropriate programming, staff and space available at each school. Although each of our 12 elementary schools offers the same world-class education sometimes a particular school location is better suited for families because of a parent's work schedule or the location of their child-care provider. Approval for one child in a family does not guarantee approval for younger children in the same family.

Each child in a family must have an in-district transfer form filed individually. Should you be granted the transfer, you must be able to provide transportation to and from school for your student.

Transfer requests will not be reviewed until June 2016. Transfer requests may not be confirmed until August, due to space availability at each school. If you have any questions, please contact the Educational Services Department at (586) 723-2020.

Secondary:

To request an in-district transfer for grades 6 through 12, please put your request in a letter and send to: Mr. Ed Skiba, Educational Services, 19120 Cass Ave., Clinton Twp., MI 48038.

Please state the grade your child will be in, their current school and the school you wish to transfer to, and the reason(s) for the transfer. Be sure to include your day-time phone number. Approval for one child in a family does not guarantee approval for younger children in the same family.
