Cougar Days

Cougar Days will take place at the 9th grade center for 9th grade students and at the main building for 10-12th grade students. During Cougar Days, students will have their school photo taken, pick up their class schedule and parking pass (if applicable) and explore the Dakota campus. This is an important opportunity for students to get ready for the upcoming school year. Please see the schedule below: Note- * If students are unable to attend during their designated time, they are welcome to attend a different session that fits their schedule.

Freshmen: Tuesday, August 25th.  9th grade students will attend based on their last name

  • Last names A-E: 8:00 am-9:30 am 
  • Last names F-K: 9:30 am-11:00 am 
  • Last names L-R: 12:00 pm- 1:30 pm 
  • Last names S-Z: 1:30 pm-3:00 pm 

Seniors: Wednesday, August 26 | 7:45 AM – 11:00 AM

Juniors: Wednesday, August 26 | 11:45 PM – 3:00 PM

Sophomores: Thursday, August 27 | 7:45 AM – 11:00 AM & 11:45 PM -3:00 PM. 


  • CLP Cougar Days: 

Cougar Days for students in the Creative Learning Program (CLP) will take place on Wednesday, August 26th. There will be two sessions available:

  • Incoming 9th Grade Students: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 10th–12th Grade Students: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

CLP teachers will meet students and families at the main building in the atrium near the tables by the west entrance. During Cougar Days, students will have their school photo taken. Incoming freshmen will also participate in a guided tour of the 9th Grade Center and main building to help them become familiar with their new school environment before the start of the school year. Please note that students will not receive their finalized schedules during Cougar Days. Schedules will be available through PowerSchool prior to the first day of school.
