PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) is a program designed to teach and reinforce positive behaviors.
The PBIS theme at Chippewa Valley is built on the concept of Big Red PRIDE:
The BEHAVIOR MATRIX explains what those character traits look like in classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, at arrival and dismissal time, and at school events.
At the beginning of the year and monthly our teachers will teach and discuss the PRIDE character traits and recognize students who are demonstrating those traits. Here is the calendar for those PRIDE days:
September 3 – Each class will focus on a different aspect of PRIDE
October 7 – 1st hour classes will emphasize Prepared
November 4 – 2nd hour classes – Respectful
December 1 – 3rd hour classes – Integrity
January 13 – 4th hour classes – Dedicated
February 3 – 5th hour classes – Engaged
March 2 – 6th hour classes – Review PRIDE
