 It is Professional Dress Day for many of our CTE classes. You make our whole school look better. 

CTC members have a lunch meeting tomorrow in the media center, or you can choose to come to an after-school meeting today in room 161. 

Attention seniors: Paying for college night is this evening at 6 pm. We have a financial aid representative from University of Michigan presenting on financial aid and the FAFSA form which is the required form to get money for college. All seniors and senior parents should attend. The meeting will be virtual through zoom. Meeting information is posted on School Counseling Course on Schoology. 

  There will be a Drama Club Meeting in the Auditorium after school on Wednesday October 1st from 2:15 until 3:00. All are welcome to join! 


Chippewa Valley Winter Guard is having a Meet & Spin on October 26th from 12-4 in the 9th grade center gym.  See attached flyer for further details.

 Today’s college visit is from Bowling Green State University-Main Campus.  Stop by their information table in the cafeteria during all lunches.  A couple of reminders for tonight’s big Football game against Dakota. 

  • No Backpacks are allowed.  Take them home, leave them in your locker or car, just don’t bring them to the game.
  • All students must enter the game through the wrought-iron gates at the stadium main entrance off 19 Mile Road.  You must show your student ID and your hand will be stamped.
  • Do not bring younger siblings or friends with you to the game as middle school students are not allowed in without a parent and neither are students from schools outside the district.
  • Have fun, cheer loudly and positively and GO BIG REDS!

Students will gain hands-on experience in creating short videos, from planning and filming to editing and production. Members will work on projects for the school as well as their own creative pieces, building a portfolio of original work along the way. 

All students that attended the science Olympiad meeting, there is a meeting today to drop of paper work. If you were unable to attend please stop by room 235 Tuesday to pick up the information. 

 Salt and Light Bible Study will meet after school today in room 124. 

 All are welcome. Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having a meeting tomorrow at 6:30am in room 227.

If you are finding yourself stuck in hallway traffic around the center stairs, consider using the stairs at the end of the B, C, and D halls, and please do not stop in the hallway and block the coming and going at the center stairs. Keep moving.

Some reminders for the game: Students must show an ID to enter. Before the game, the National Anthem will be played. You are asked to stand, remove your hat, face the flag, and show quiet respect. During the game you are not allowed to hang out outside of the bleachers; you must be in the bleachers.

Student should only cross 19 Mile Road at the cross walks, especially in the morning when it is dark. Crossing in other places and standing in the turn lane is very dangerous.

Today during first hour, we will hold our first Avoid, Deny, Defend drill.  This first drill will be an instructional drill focused on what to do in the event of an active shooter or similar threat in the building. Remember that we have blue emergency pull stations located throughout the building that can be pulled in those situations to notify everyone in the building, and the police, of the avoid, deny, defend situation. We will also use this as an opportunity to focus our attention on our district backpack policy. Remember that only clear backpacks are allowed during the school day. Teachers, as a part of your drill discussion please check your room for non-clear backpacks and send those students to their lockers with those bags. Please also make this a point of emphasis throughout the day today.

Congratulations to Hannah Lange who has earned a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program for outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in 2024, which was taken last fall. 

The first International Club meeting will be held today, after school in room 241. You don't need to be enrolled in a world language class in order to become a member. All students are welcome.

If you are interested in being involved with our school musical, Tuck Everlasting, as a performer on stage, please come to the CVHS 10/12 choir room 170  after school today, from 2:30-3:30 for an informational meeting to learn more about it and to see if it is a good fit for you!  This is open to all students 9-12th grade! Everyone has a spot in our show – we do not cut! If you don’t know where to go, ask a teacher for directions to the choir room. We hope to see you there!
