Congratulations to our advanced math students! Our school proudly earned first place in the Michigan Math League statewide competition. This is a tremendous accomplishment. Many of the top public and private schools in the state participate.

 Our JLM summer camp is on Monday, June 22nd through Friday June 26th from 9:00am-4:00pm each day. We meet at different locations each day of camp.

 The goal of Junior Leadership Macomb is to help students better prepare for life after high school through career exploration, behind the scenes field trips, and a variety of interactive and introspective activities. Students emerge with established and solid connections, heightened self-awareness, self-confidence, purpose, and direction.

The Science Olympiad team ended their season over the weekend at the State competition at MSU. Top placings in the state of Michigan were: 
17th Place- Parker Winkler and Abigail Grabowski for Boom Lever
17th Place- Jessica Davis and Val Perez for Botany
21st place- Parker Winkler and Abrielle Sarnacki for Anat and Phys
23rd place- Carson Sherer and Jackson Leflar for Chem Lab

Announcements – April 27, 2026 

Yesterday in a very exciting game, our Flag Football team came away with a last second victory over the Eagles of Eisenhower. Gabrielle, better known as G Lowe, scored the game winning touchdown on a pass from Zayna Morany with 3 seconds left on the clock. This is the first victory in the history of the program. Wendy Kaso is credited with scoring the first touchdown in program history and Gracelyn Vazana led the way on defense with 13 flag pulls 3 pass break ups and 1 interception.

An important E Sports League Update! This year, several members of our E Sports team crossed over to play with Dakota High School and created a new Chippewa United team. Member of this new team have made it to the semifinals for Overwatch and Valorant! If they continue to win this week, they will advance to the Championship at Oakland University . Congratulations to these members and congratulations to Coach Bilof at Dakota for winning Coach of the Year!

Congratulations to all CVHS choir students who performed at the State Solo & Ensemble Festival this weekend! Out of 35 events, 31 earned Division I ratings and 4 earned Division II—an outstanding showing! A huge congratulations to the **CVHS SSAA Quartet—Helena Donnenwerth, Alexandra Neeman, Lily Pittman, and Norah Shields—**for being named the top small ensemble at the festival, earning an invitation to perform at the All-State Honors Showcase—a top-tier achievement, equivalent to a D1 Athletic State Championship. This marks the 8th time in the past 10 years—with the event canceled during COVID—that CVHS has earned this honor, continuing an incredible legacy. Be sure to congratulate all of the participants.

  All CVHS students are welcome to stop by the table in the cafeteria during lunch TODAY that is co-sponsored by Coalition Teen Council and Turning Point of Macomb, which is an agency that helps survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. April is sexual assault awareness month. Stop by the table to learn something and get a small prize. CTC members will have lunch meetings TOMORROW, April 9th, during lunch hours in the media center.

Our Math team won the Spark Third Place Award out of 770 papers submitted in this year’s MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge (National Math Modeling Competition). Congratulations to Maksim Pirkola, Jenna Kyker, Elaina Friedmann, Majd Aewas, and Daniel Gjoke. SPARK Awards are for teams that develop Solutions with Passion, Resourcefulness, and Knowledge, and recognize teams that demonstrate excellence and creativity in solving the Challenge problem.
