Announcements – October 6, 2026 

 It's Professional Dress Day in our CTE Business Department. You look great! Look good, feel good, be good.

 Email Mr. Distelrath if you would like to take a field trip to the MISD on Friday, October 23 from 8:00 - 2:00 PM to attend the "Macomb Student Voice Summit: The Pursuit of Happiness. This is the last call. We have 10 spots available. 

Crumbl Cookies is coming to Chippewa! Place your pre-order now through Friday, October 9th. Cookies will be delivered to you on Friday, October 23rd. Scan the QR code on the flyer for more details.

  • Coalition Teen Council has a mandatory meeting during lunch. Please bring your lunches to the Media Center.
  • Science Olympiad practice is canceled today. The next practice will be next week on Tuesday the 13th 

Wednesday:

  • Law and Debate Club meetings for anyone interested will be held next Wednesday in Mr. Matway's room at 6:30 in the morning.

Thursday:

  • For students interested in joining the Quiz Bowl trivia team, our first meeting will take place on this Thursday (October 8th) after school in Mrs Hutchinson's room (203). All are welcome to join.

Future:

  • Gamers Club will begin on Monday, November 9 from 2:15- 3:15 in room 249 (Mr. Grzywacz's room).

  • The counselors plan to offer drop in assistance to seniors again this year on Thursdays during 2nd and 3rd Hour in the Community Room for college applications and financial aid. This will start this Thursday, October 8th and go until Thursday November 19th.  Students should check in with their teacher first and come down with a pass at your discretion. 

 Backyard Brawl T-shirts and Hoodies:

The Athletic Boosters are currently selling Backyard Brawl t-shirts ($17) and hoodies ($25) for the Dakota game. Orders can be placed on the CV Athletic Boosters Facebook or Instagram page.

Homecoming Tickets:

  • Our Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, October 17 at 6 PM. Tickets are on sale now until October 14th. https://www.payschoolsevents.com/events/details/45795. To enter the dance you must have the electronic ticket on the mobile app or a paper ticket. No pictures of tickets will be allowed. You must also have your student ID card. The doors will close at 7pm.  If seniors want to bring a guest, they must fill out a guest form by October 8th, and they can be picked up from Mrs. Zielinski's room, 118.

Congratulations to our girls swim team. They finished in 3rd place this past Saturday at the 2026 Girls Swimming and Diving Macomb County Championship. 

Macomb County, Macomb Community College, and the MISD are hosting "Macomb Student Voice Summit: The Pursuit of Happiness" on Friday, October 23 from 8:00 - 2:00 PM at the MISD. The day will include breakout sessions and opportunities to dialogue with students from other Macomb County schools. Email Mr. Distelrath if you are interested in attending.

 We're opening another serving line in the cafeteria today. The line will include hot daily options like chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, and pizza and also have ala carte items such as pop, slushies, and snacks. You can enter the line from the main hallway at the start of lunch and through the cafeteria later in the lunch period.

Announcements – October 1, 2026 

 Some lunch time expectations - Unless you have a media center pass you will not be allowed to leave the lunch room to go to the café, you must go before going to the lunch room - You are only allowed in lunch room and school store during your lunch time.

 The busses pull out of the lot at 2:14 PM. If you are not on the bus by that time, you will have to make alternate arrangements for transportation, because they will be leaving without you. And don't run after a moving bus; it's not safe to be in the parking lot when the busses are moving. 

Students with 5th and/or 6th hour classes at Dakota will not be travelling there tomorrow due to their pep assembly. You should report to the media center instead.
