Cheyenne Fall 2013 MEAP Results
The results of the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP), given in the fall to students in grades 3-4-5 are below.
The numbers below show the percentages of students who met or exceeded state standards (levels 1 & 2)on the MEAP Assessment. Data from this year's MEAP, as well as the scores for Chippewa Valley elementary schools, Macomb County results and State of Michigan results are also included. This information is helpful to the Cheyenne staff and will be used to determine specific areas of the curriculum that need to be strengthened. The MEAP Assessments are just one of the many assessment tools we use to measure our students' learning progress.
State of MI
At Cheyenne we maintain high academic standards for our students and have consistently scored among the highest in Macomb County. We are already working with our teaching staff to understand these new proficiency levels, and are analyzing the data to make changes to our curriculum. Our staff is committed through continuous school improvement to work collaboratively within the school to ensure that we create a positive learning environment that supports all students.
Our MEAP scores have contributed to the reason that Cheyenne has been in the top 8% of all schools in Michigan for the past two years according to the Michigan Department of Education's Top -to-Bottom List.
