IN-DISTRICT TRANSFER

For many years Chippewa Valley Schools has been one of Michigan's fastest growing school districts but with the recent downturn in our economy many of our families have been forced to relocate out of state in search of employment.

As a result some of our elementary schools are experiencing less overcrowding and, in some buildings and grade levels, slower than anticipated growth.  This may allow district families more options when it comes to choosing their child's school.  Through an In-District Transfer request parents/guardians may choose to enroll their child in a school outside of their home attendance area as long as there is appropriate programming, staff and space available at each school.  Although each of our 12 elementary schools offers the same world-class education sometimes a particular school location is better suited for families because of a parent's work schedule or the location of their child-care provider.

Now parents may have the option of choosing their child's elementary school (based on available space).  Approval for one child in a family does not guarantee approval for younger children in the same family.  Each child in a family must have an in-district transfer form request filed individually.  To apply for an Elementary In-District Transfer follow the directions on the form, and mail it to Educational Services Department, Chippewa Valley Schools, 19120 Cass Ave., Clinton Twp., MI 48038.

To apply for a transfer in the 2008-2009 school year please fill out this application.
