Winter
weather is here and that can mean the potential for school
closings or bus delays. The decision to close schools is always
made with the safety of students in mind.
Here are some of
the things we consider before making the decision to close
schools…
*Information on
road conditions from our transportation department.
*The amount of
snow and ice that has accumulated and whether or not that
precipitation is expected to continue.
*Parking lot
conditions throughout the District.
*Building
conditions--making sure we have electricity and heat.
*Weather
predictions that warn us of inclement weather danger
The most
important consideration when deciding any school closing is the
safety of our students. Generally, the decision to close schools
due to inclement weather is made in the early morning hours. As
soon as the decision to close schools is made, local television
and radio stations are notified. For a complete list of school
