Strong Schools = Strong Community
CVS to place bond proposal on May ballot
The Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education has approved a resolution to establish Tuesday, May 2, 2017, as the date to conduct a special bond election. On that day, CVS will ask residents to vote on an $89.9 million dollar bond proposal that will provide our schools with much-needed building improvements and technology upgrades. If approved by voters, the .5 mill proposal will cost residents $50 per year for a home valued at approximately $200,000. The bond proposal offers many building improvements and safety upgrades but focuses only on the essential needs of the district that were identified as part of an overall strategic plan.
It is critical that we keep our district buildings and technology up-to-date and in good working order. Keeping our school facilities viable for our students, families, and community for many years to come is a top priority of this bond proposal.
In the coming weeks you will learn more about this important proposal and what it will mean for your child’s school building. We will be presenting information during parent and community meetings. We hope that you will join us.
As you learn more about this proposal, we ask that you contact us with any questions you may have by logging onto our website chippewavalleyschools.org, click on the ‘Contact Us’ button, or by calling 586-723-2240.
Last day to register to vote: Wednesday, April 3, 2017.
